Custom CMS website for a middle school science teacher with file and link management

I developed a comprehensive website for Douglas Enns, a dedicated middle school science teacher at the United Nations International School. Mr. Enns had accumulated an extensive collection of files, resource links, and educational materials that needed organization and easy access.

The Challenge

Teachers often struggle to organize and share their extensive resource collections. Mr. Enns needed a way to make his materials accessible to students while maintaining control over organization and presentation.

Custom Solution

I built a custom CMS that included:

Custom file picker for easy file management

Custom theme maker for flexible design options

Drag-and-drop link manager for resource organization

Intuitive interface for non-technical content editing

Impact

The platform empowered Mr. Enns to effectively share his expertise and resources with students. It demonstrated that thoughtfully designed tools can significantly enhance teaching effectiveness.

Lessons Learned

This project taught me the importance of user empathy and iterative design. By working closely with Mr. Enns, I learned that the best solutions adapt to how people actually work, rather than forcing them to adapt to technology.

Design principles

Built specifically for a teacher's workflow. Prioritized accessibility for non-technical users while providing powerful features for content organization.

Impact

Transformed how Mr. Enns could share resources and demonstrated the value of customized solutions in education technology.
