Intranet platform for a construction law firm combining announcements, directory, and policies
I proposed, designed, implemented, and deployed ZDweb, an intranet site for Zetlin & De Chiara LLP, a construction law firm. The platform consolidated announcements, employee directory, and company policies into a single, accessible hub.
Business Problem
The law firm had information scattered across emails, shared drives, and printed documents. Employees struggled to find policies, contact information, and announcements. There was a need for a centralized, easy-to-use platform that could improve internal communication and efficiency.
Solution: ZDweb
I built an integrated intranet that served as a one-stop shop for:
Company announcements and news
Employee directory with contact information
Policy repository and documentation
LDAP-integrated authentication
Search and browsing capabilities
Technical Implementation
Built on Drupal for flexibility and ease of administration, the platform integrated with the firm's existing LDAP directory for single sign-on. This meant employees could log in with their existing credentials, reducing friction and improving adoption.
Organizational Impact
ZDweb improved internal communication efficiency, reduced time spent searching for information, and provided a clear, professional interface that reflected the firm's values. The platform became the go-to resource for employees seeking company information.
Design principles
Designed for busy professionals who needed quick access to information. Prioritized clarity, searchability, and reducing cognitive load.
Impact
Improved internal communication and operational efficiency for a professional services firm.
